Yay! Isn't it fun to run into old friends?

The big green frog (name of "Big Green", go figure) that was in residence for three years at my little fish pond isn't there this year. Waaaaaah.
But, another big ol' really dark green dude is there. So, it's ok!

....an they called it bunny love......

BUNNEH!!!!!

ooops sorry, got a little over excited there.

We don't see too many critters like him around our house.

(gets up to let dogs outside)

(sits back down)

(gets back up to let Renee teh Barking Queen bak in)

(sits back down)

where was I? Oh, Why oh why don't teh bunnehs come to my house?

They eat the dandelions, too, though apparently the dandelions are still winning. Need more rabbits.

Nice shot! A pretty good size bunny, so it seems (?)
I do remember him/her!! It's so nice when they come back! Maybe the other one is a baby from last year.
"Need more rabbits."

Well, if one is a he and one is a she, reinforcements should be arriving soon.
We get bunnies little cottontail bunnies they are about the size of maybe a squirrel... They are very very cute even when they eat your petunias and cabbages

Yeah, if the wabbits are a couple, the charge of the Bun-Brigade seems imminent. Them dandelions' days are numbered.

The Dude abides,
And the Bun approves...
(No idea what that means)

Where'd the RCF vid go of the, y'know, "tongueage"? I thought you posted it on your blog?

The actual post is over on Cute Overload, of course, but yeah, I saved a copy of the .GIF here too. It's in the Photos section. I even gave it a "cute overload" Vox tag, which should help (also "photochop" and "animated").
One of them is *definitely* a "she," because we just spotted BABY BUNNIES! At least four of them.

Minutes ago I noticed Semi-Resident Bunny hopping around & in the compost heap, a former sandbox now overgrown with weeds. I mentioned this to Theo, who stepped outside to investigate. "I don't see any rabbit," he said, standing inches away from the compost.

An instant later the rabbit popped out of the weeds and bounded away...and we saw tiny bunny heads peeking out of the hole she'd just exited. Teeeeeeeny little ears! All together now: "AWWWWWWW!!"

We aren't seriously composting, which would involve a lot more turning over and wetting down of the decaying vegetable matter; instead we're just flinging our plucked weeds & such in there. Just as well, as that kind of commotion might have caused our little wild guests distress.

They were tucked too far down in the hole for a photo opp, but we'll hope to catch them hopping about the yard soon.
Awww I missed this Yay for baby bunnies
Getting pix will be difficult, but I'm gonna try... if I succeed, though, they probably won't show up here. At least, not right away. (Because there's that OTHER place, y'know.)
Aw! Baby bunnies! Watch out for cats in your neighborhood though - that's the main reason we don't have any cute bunnies... outside cats. :( Maybe when we move...
Well, these are real-world wild cottontails, so that sort of thing only bears so much thinking about. In Watership Down, rabbits called rabbit-eating predators thrair ("The Thousand"). Our own cats are indoors-only, though.
